Health and Safety protocols for 2021-2022 School Year

Safely returning to in-person instruction is a priority for all of us. We all play a part in returning to school safely and staying healthy all year. We are implementing layered prevention strategies to keep everyone healthy, especially those not yet able to receive a COVID vaccine.

We have layered safety mitigation and prevention measures aligned to Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and Governor Jay Inslee's recent directives.

Federal and state health officials remind us that getting the COVID-19 vaccine can protect you from getting sick and helps prevent severe COVID-related illness, hospitalizations, and death.

School preventative measures for the coming school year include:

  • face coverings (in school and on school bus transportation)
  • physical distancing
  • improved ventilation
  • handwashing
  • cleaning & disinfecting
  • staying home when sick

Currently, there is no state requirement for COVID vaccines or routine testing of school district employees or students, and daily attestations are no longer required.

*We continue to monitor guidance from the Department of Health and the state education office to determine if changes regarding in-person instruction need to occur.
